CMP Trail Team

Enzo Romeri, Marco Menegardi, Luciano Meneghel and Francesca Dal Bosco are the top athletes on the CMP Trail Team. They earned this title due to their athletic merits and thanks as well to a CMP initiative, which awarded a technical sponsorship to the top three male and female runners wearing CMP clothing or shoes during the CMP Trail LONG (see complete rules here).

Enzo Romeri moved over to trail running after racing in various MTB events. He is from Fai DellaPaganella, near Trento, and divides his time among various sports, including trail running, timed uphill climbing races, verticals in summer and ski mountaineering in winter. Since he began running, he’s won important races: he placed 2nd at the Soldamare Trail and the Vertical Trento and won at the Marcia di Primavera (Fai della Paganella) and the Trail del Contrabbandiere. He is establishing himself as one of the most competitive athletes on the national trail running scene, evidenced as well by the fact he came in 2nd at the Cortina Trail.

marcoBorn in 1986, Marco Menegardi has had important wins in both road races as well as trail races: he was declared the Italian champion of the 100 km road race in Seregno, and won the Ultrabericus and Ecomaratona del Collio races, reaching the finish line alongside his friend Ivan Cudin.

Luciano Meneghel started running in 1999 as a way of recuperating after an injury, and he’s never stopped. He loves the feeling of IMG 20170423 WA0014peace and freedom that only running can give him. After placing 2nd during the Extreme Winter Trail, he set his sights on running the Ultra Trail for 2017. He fully achieved his goal by coming in 1st on the Ultra Trail (83 km) of the Sacred Forests Trail, and at the Fregona Trail Fest where he shared top honours with Ivan Geronazzo.

GIO3066 minFrancesca Dal Bosco, the only woman on the team, has been running for three years. She describes her approach to mountain running as “love at first sight”.  She won last November in San Martino, where she reached the finish line alone, beating her nearest competitor by three minutes. Her season got off to a great start with a 1st place win at the Sacred Forest Trail on the same route used by the trail world championships.
